Florida Retriever Rescue (FARR), Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer, rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted and neglected dogs throughout Florida, with a special focus on retriever breeds

We specialize in the Retriever breeds (Labradors, Goldens, Flat Coats, Curly Coats, Duck Tollers), but you will also see other large breed dogs from time to time. All of our dogs will be spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and heartworm tested before adoption.

The adoption fee is based based on breed, age, and demand. We are 100% volunteers with no paid employees, so all of our funds go to rescuing dogs. We had lowered our adoption fees for a while due to the economy, but our vets have raised their fees and we are struggling to keep afloat, so now we are setting them based on their age and breed. Please rest assured our adoption fees are still the lowest of any rescue in the area. Some dogs will only costs us $75, some will cost us $1200. We take care of our dogs medically prior to adoption to ensure as best we can that you are getting a healthy dog. We of course cannot check hips and all that, but will if the dog shows any issues around it. But this includes spay/neuter, shots, rabies, worming and heartworm test (if over 6 months) and treatment if positive (which cost us $460 by itself). Adoption fees range from $50-$300.

We try to be completely fair in our adoptions and will answer emails in the order they come in to pursue a possible adoption. This way there is no confusion in multiple people meeting a dog at the same time. We do not require fencing or have prohibitions against toddlers. We make our determinations on a case by case basis.
